Henderson Thinks Liverpool Can Do Better

After a deflating draw with FC Augsburg in the Europa League, captain Jordan Henderson thinks that the team can do better.

Despite a decent second half performance at the WWK Arena on Thursday, Liverpool left Germany with only a goalless draw to take back with them for the return fixture. The performance was deflating after the team put six past bottom-dwellers Aston Villa last weekend, especially since the starting XI included some heavy hitters in the form of Philippe Coutinho and Daniel Sturridge.

Recommended SURE BET.

Captain Jordan Henderson felt the frustration, but believes that Liverpool can and will do better next week when the two teams face off again in the return fixture at Anfield.
"We're obviously a little bit disappointed, we didn't play as well as we could have. We created a few chances where we should be be scoring, so overall we're a little bit disappointed but we've got another game to put it right, Henderson said.
"They hit the post and we had a few chances so it was pretty even in that sense. Like I said, I think we can play a lot better than that, especially in the final third keeping the ball a little bit better and moving it too slow at times. We need to make sure that we put that right in the next game.
"In the first half we played too slow from the back, weren't playing behind their line enough so we tried that a little bit more second half and it worked, we had good moments but that's not enough.
"We need to do it more consistently throughout the game and if we do that then we'll win the game."
The pressure will be on the team to deliver a positive result at Anfield. With the league cup final looming, decisions will have to be made about which players make the squad on Thursday and which are rested for
Manchester City on Sunday. Hopefully whatever team Klopp puts out will be enough to book Liverpool a ticket into the round of 16.
