Mourinho agrees pre-contract terms, Red Devils want Kroos

Toni Kroos

Despite taking the lead in Denmark through Memphis Depay, United conceded just before half-time and Midtjylland scored the winning goal on the 77th minute through Paul Onuachu.

This result will heap further pressure on United manager Louis van Gaal, who continues to attract immense criticism from the Red Devils’ fan-base.

Despite the loss in the Europa League, a number of big names continue to be linked to United. On that note, here’s a round-up of Friday’s biggest stories surrounding the club.

United would reportedly love to sign Real Madrid midfielder Toni Kroos, having failed to sign the German World Cup winner back in 2014. Manchester City and their incoming boss Pep Guardiola are also aiming to sign the 26-year-old star, who has a good relationship with the Catalan coach. Kroos has scored one league goal in 2015/16. Jose Mourinho has allegedly landed a pre-contract agreement with United, with the deal running for three years and seeing the Portuguese earn £48 million. He will earn £16m-per-year, equivalent to £308,000-per-week, as United look to reverse their fortunes under the former Chelsea manager. Mourinho had a 25%
Premier League win ratio with the Blues this season. (Football Insider)
United are leading the race to sign Fulham midfielder Emerson Hyndman. The 19-year-old USA international is touted as a highly-rated talent and is also linked with Bayern Munich and Borussia Dortmund. Hyndman has created three chances in the Championship this term. (HITC)

Arsenal manager Arsene Wenger has admitted that he blocked United from signing 30-year-old Mathieu Debuchy on loan in the January transfer window, as he didn’t want to give players to direct rivals. “You loan players out to clubs who do not have the resources, but not to direct opponents. There was nothing shocking in that and it’s true, I stand up for that.” Debuchy has since joined Bordeaux, averaging five defensive actions per league game for the French side. Steve Bruce is concerned that United may recall Nick Powell from his love move at Hull City early due to the current injury crisis at Old Trafford. He said on Friday: “It’s a possibility because of their injury situation, but we’ve had no contact from them just yet about that.”  Powell had a 38% pass accuracy in the Champions League this season.
