Chelsea are thinking
about ending Andreas Christensen’s loan spell with Borussia
Monchengladbach short in a bid to aid their defensive shortage.
The Blues are set to be without Kurt Zouma for the rest of the campaign and into the new season after the centre-back picked up an ACL injury in the side’s draw with Manchester United at the weekend.
It means that last campaign’s Premier League champions are left with just captain John Terry and Gary Cahill to cover the position. Branislav Ivanovic is able to cover in the area but is naturally a right-back.

And according to the Evening Standard Chelsea are now considering ending Christensen’s loan spell in Germany to help cover the absence of Zouma.
The report indicates that even though the Blues signed Matt Miazga in January they do not want to throw the young American into the deep end at Stamford Bridge, and want to nurture his abilities.
And therefore the club’s last option will be getting the 19-year-old Denmark international back to the Premier League side.
Christensen has played in 17 Bundesliga
matches this campaign, helping them to sixth in the division. He has
scored two goals for the club, which both came in the 5-1 win over
Werder Bremen last week.
