Sportswear giants not pulling out of deal with NFF

Nike will start supplying new sets of jerseys to Nigerian national football teams from April

After reviewing their partnership deal with the Nigeria Football Federation, Nike is set to continue kitting the country’s national teams.

Sports kit manufacturing company Nike called for a review of its sponsorship deals with NFF according to a NAN report.

Nike were concerned about the poor ratings of the Super Eagles, the senior national male football team, which is NFF’s major selling point.

The sportswear company were also worried about the deluge of reports from the Nigerian media about Nike’s failure to hold up their own end of the deal.

There reports that Nike would pull out of the deal which was supposed to run from April 1, 2015 to 2018 but the sports giants are set to supply a new set of kits to the country's national teams by the second quarter of the year, Complete Sports reported.

"NIKE will supply us (NFF) with brand new jerseys by April and we look forward to receiving them," a top NFF official is quoted to say in the report.
"The jerseys will be for our men and women national teams.
