At his pre-match press conference on Thursday afternoon, Max Allegri said that Mario Mandzukic would be returning to training on Sunday. After Juventus' 0-0 draw against Bologna on Friday night, Max Allegri said that Mario Mandzukic would be returning to training on Sunday.
Max Allegri is a man of his word.
Mario Mandzukic has indeed
returned to training on Sunday, giving us a pretty good idea of what he
will be doing on Tuesday night at Juventus Stadium. He won't be sitting
in the stands like the last couple of weeks.
Nope, the chances of
Mandzukic playing against his former team in Tuesday's first leg of the
Champions
League Round of 16 tie in Turin just got a pretty healthy
boost.

From juventus.com, where there just so happens to be visual evidence of Mandzukic doing training things:
Those involved in yesterday's stalemate with the Rossoblu underwent a recovery session, while the remainder of the group, which included Mario Mandzukic, underwent fitness and technical drills on the Juventus Center pitches.Tomorrow will see the Bianconeri ramp up their workload during a morning session.
I wonder what "ramp up" means. Maybe we should ask Max next time we have the chance to talk to him...
Okay, back to Mandzukic.
Based on what the playing time
situation before Mandzukic was injured, I feel pretty sure in saying
that if Allegri feels the big Croatian striker is good to go for
Tuesday, then you'll see him starting alongside Paulo Dybala against
Bayern Munich. And you look at how that combination was producing goals
before Mandzukic's injury and you have to feel a little better about
things compared to if he wasn't healthy.
So, for once, we have more good
injury news to talk about compared to bad injury news. There was Alex
Sandro being out for 10 days instead of six weeks, now we have Mandzukic
making his return to training (and hopefully games in a couple of
days). We should be happy, because these kinds of things don't always
happen during this injury-riddled season.
