Mats Hummels to leave Borussia Dortmund to rejoin Bayern Munich in a 4-year deal [Bild]

Mats Hummels is set to be the new Mario Gotze.

In a move which seems to signify that however good Borussia Dortmund get, they’ll always be in the shadow of Bayern Munich, Bild on Monday report that Hummels is set to leave the Signal Iduna Park this summer to return to the Allianz Arena.

The 27-year-old German World Cup started his career at Bayern, he joined the club aged 6, however he never managed to force his way into the first team.


He then moved to BVB on loan, before completing a move to Dortmund in 2009.
According to Bild, Bayern have offered Hummels a 4-year contract, which includes a €10m a season salary plus bonus.
Moreover, the paper reveals that Bayern will pay Dortmund €30m for the defender.

In the past week, Hummels has admitted the stress of his next big decision is causing sleep problems:

It’s a very difficult decision, and when I finally make it people will understand how hard it is for me. I’ve set a date, but I’m keeping it to myself.

Hummels senior made the following remark to the tabloid:
Mats is facing a tremendously important decision in his career, in his life. Dortmund is back among the top clubs in Europe, so the decision is so hard for him.

If he should leave Dortmund, then he goes to one of the five or six top clubs. And to these clubs one is of course FC Bayern.
