Jerome Boateng says that he is ready to help Bayern Munich in their Champions League semi-final match against Atletico Madrid, after being included in the 22-man squad.
The defender picked up a groin injury on Jan 22, in a Bundesliga game against Hamburg which the Bavarians won 2-1. He resumed training with the team last week.
The potential return of the German defender leaves Bayern Munich with a mostly fit side. Only Holger Badstuber and Arjen Robben are currently out of action. For their rivals Atletico Madrid, key defender Diego Godin is not available due to a hamstring injury.
Before boarding the Madrid bound plane, Jerome Boateng shared his thoughts about returning from injury:
I’m feeling good and I’m ready to help the team. I don’t know how long. But I’ll give it everything once I’m out on the pitch

With manager Pep Guardiola leaving the team to join Manchester City in the summer, it is still possible to achieve the treble before he goes. Last week they beat Werder Bremen 2-0 to reach the DFB-Pokal final, where they will face Borussia Dortmund.
