Jurgen Klopp shares what he saw before Borussia Dortmund miracle

Jurgen Klopp feels there's an unexplainable energy about Liverpool as a club.

Quoted by Four Four Two, manager Jurgen Klopp has revealed that he witnessed a certain "power" on the streets of Liverpool prior to their win over Borussia Dortmund earlier this month.

The Reds, and indeed their fans, reminded neutrals just how special European nights can be at Anfield as Klopp's side eliminated his former club from the Europa League in the most dramatic manner a couple of weeks ago.

The club's famous support played a big role and the city was buzzing for hours before that quarter-final second leg on Merseyside, and the German hints that there is something unexplainable about the type of atmosphere of which they produce.

The German spent seven years at Signal Iduna Park, winning two Bundesliga crowns, and the 48-year-old reveals that he has the same title-winning vibes about Liverpool as he did with Die Borussen.

"I feel there is a power at this club," he said, via Four Four Two. "I felt it when we played Dortmund at Anfield and I saw it in the streets before the game. I believe that there are some clubs who are always more likely to win trophies than other clubs.

"I don't know where that comes from, but I felt it for the first time when I was at Dortmund. Michael Zorc [sporting manager at Dortmund] told me when Bayer Leverkusen were breathing down our necks at the end of one season that I shouldn't worry.

"He said they wouldn't win because Leverkusen never win and that Dortmund were a club that wins titles. I feel that at Liverpool, and I think the supporters do too."

Jurgen Klopp manager of Liverpool shakes hands with Rafael Benitez manager of Newcastle before during the Barclays Premier League match between Liverpool and Newcastle United at Anfield on April 23, 2016 in Liverpool, United Kingdom.

Klopp's side face Villarreal in a first-leg semi-final in Spain this Thursday, and the Liga side simply must record a positive first-leg victory at El Madrigal. They don't want to be going to Anfield needing to win because, as Liverpool fans and players showed, it is a big, big ask.
