One shot on goal and one assist: That was Paul Seguin‘s tally in his first, brief outing in the Bundesliga last Saturday against FC Augsburg. In spite of the 0-2 defeat to FCA, the youngster made a decent impression, although he couldn’t really enjoy the experience: "It was a nice feeling, but frustrating that we lost."
And after his first five minutes of action in the top-flight, the 21-year-old is naturally now eager for more: "I hope to have further opportunities in the three remaining matches. Now I want to make my next step, which means playing a much as possible," explained Seguin. Having suffered a number of injury related setbacks, VfL’s home-grown hopeful believes his Bundesliga debut can boost his belief in his own abilities: "This has been hard earned and I’ve had a lot of setbacks to deal with. Involvements like this boost your confidence, because you know that you are part of it."

The fact that those responsible at the club have every fate in the Magdeburg born youngster, was made very clear in the past few weeks. Seguin, who made his professional debut last season against RB Leipzig in the DFB-Cup Round of 16, signed an early contract extension at the end of March, to bind him to the club until 2018.
