Sunderland striker Fabio Borini has compared himself to Bayern Munich star Thomas Muller for the work the pair do off the ball.
The diminutive Italian is part of Sam Allardyce’s squad that are currently fighting for their Premier League lives, with the Wearside outfit in need of positive results to avoid relegation this season.
Borini is not always a starter for the North East club, but has got the nod to play on 19 occasions this term from the first whistle, scoring four Premier League goals.
However, the former Liverpool forward’s work rate off the ball is something that is an asset to the Black Cats and a reason that Allardyce has him in the team.

Borini has stated that his dedication to do the slightly unsavoury things that most forwards do not want to do is an asset for his team and has compared his style of play to that of World Cup winner Muller.
“I call my role a blind job because people don’t notice the work you’re doing,” the Italian told The Guardian.
“I feel a bit like Thomas Müller at Bayern Munich – they pick him because he does a lot of blind jobs, which makes things easier for everyone else.”
