France And Germany Qualify For EURO 2017

France were the first to book their place at EURO 2017 in the Netherlands, swiftly joined by Germany.
The French won Group 2 on Monday following a 4-0 defeat of Ukraine, which now means they have won a record 39 successive qualifiers.

Germany's 2-0 win over Croatia yesterday was enough for them to take top spot in Group 5. Dzsenifer Marozsán an Anja Mittag got a goal each as progress was sealed.

Both Scotland and Spain have already secured a least a play-off place, with the Spanish close to qualifcation along with Norway and Switzerland.

Spain have won all six games in Group 2, the latest being a 3-0 result against Republic of Ireland and Finland are the only side who can now catch them.

Scotland and Iceland have both yet to drop points in Group 1, with the Scots having played a game more and the pair going head to head on June 3rd in Falkirk.

Sweden lead Group 4 with as many wins in a row and although Slovakia are now second, Denmark are best placed to challenge their fellow Scandinavians.

Belgium added to their draw in England by hitting Estonia for six to hold the Group 7 summit from Mark Sampson's side, who left it very late to win in Bosnia & Herzegovina. The Red Flames have a point more than England from a game more, while Serbia are 3 points behind the Lionesses.

The qualifiers resume on June 2nd and the eventual group winners and the six best runners-up will join the hosts in the finals next summer.
