A €38 million release clause may force the hands of the Giallorossi, who could say goodbye to Miralem Pjanic this summer
Roma may need to prepare for life without a central figure as Bayern Munich are set to come calling for playmaker Miralem Pjanic.
The midfield maestro currently has a contract with the Giallorossi that runs through the conclusion of the 2018 season that sees him earn an annual salary of €5.4 million.
However, the Giallorossi inserted a €38m release clause in the deal in 2014 which can be easily triggered by the German powerhouse, who could then offer the Bosnian a significant pay raise.
While the Lupi will not want to lose one of their star players, a significant cash injection would allow them to strengthen the squad in various areas.
Pjanic, who has previously opened the door to a possible exit, would in turn be given the opportunity to suit up for perennial Champions League contenders.
