Forget Arsenal's Mesut Ozil and West Ham's Dimitri Payet, the Premier League has a new assist king - and the name is something of a surprise.
Liverpool's James Milner
has been on an assist mission since the turn of the year, notching a
lofty 11 in all competitions. He created two goals for Jurgen Klopp's
side in Liverpool's 4-0 demolition of local rivals Everton on Wednesday night, taking his Premier League total to eight in 2016.

That's a full half-a-dozen more
than Ozil - who leads the way in the overall assist rankings for the
whole campaign. It was expected, at the rate he was going, that the
German would break Thierry Henry's
Premier League record of 20 at some point, but a downturn in
productivity sees him stuck on eighteen with five games to go of the
season.
