Manchester United and Arsenal sent scouts to the Champions
League tie between Benfica and Bayern Munich on Thursday night. After
winning 1-0 in Germany, Pep Guardiola's side went through to the
semifinals with a 2-2 draw.
According to A Bola, the United officials were monitoring
Benfica midfielder Renato Sanches, who's also been linked to Arsenal.
The 18-year-old put in a good performance, standing out as the best
attacking player of the home team. Other Benfica aces who performed well
were the defender Jardel and young goalkeeper Ederson.

For Bayern Munich, most of the attacking players have done
pretty well. Thiago Alcantara, Robert Lewandowski, Thomas Muller and
Arturo Vidal, who was elected Man of the Match, all were important for
the team's qualifying.
Manchester City, Leicester, Southampton, Juventus, Carpi,
Barcelona, Wolfsburg, Schalke, Toulouse, Montpellier, Vitoria Setubal,
Rio Ave and Belenenses have all sent emissaries to the Estadio da Luz as
well.
Now is the time when casual scouting needs to turn into
determined targets, if it hasn't already, ahead of the summer transfer
window.
