Tim Cone walks away as Yeng Guiao talks to referees. Jerome Ascano
TIM Cone did a
Houdini by leaving the Astrodome in a huff, obviously dejected in the
aftermath of Ginebra's 84-88 loss to Rain or Shine in Game One of their
PBA Commissioner’s Cup quarterfinals playoffs at the Astrodome on
Sunday.
Cone was the first to leave the team dugout after
a game marred by a crucial technical foul called against him with 53
seconds left for crossing the hash line off a timeout to complain about
the referees’ decision to award possession to Rain or Shine following a
video review.
The Kings were within 85-84 when Cone was whistled for the infraction after trailing, 84-78, in the final four minutes.
Jeff Chan buried the technical free throw to give the Elasto Painters a two-point lead before sealing the RoS win with a shot clock-beating jumper.

So disappointed Cone was with the call that he just let top deputy Richard Del Rosario design the play for the Kings the rest of the way while he continued to show displeasure over the call.
The multi-titled coach didn’t stay any longer inside the Ginebra dugout and eluded reporters waiting for him outside the team dressing room.
“Si coach Tim? Unang-unang umalis yun,” said assistant coach Olsen Racela when asked about the whereabouts of the Ginebra head coach.
