Will Ched Evans resurrect his football career in the US? Striker considering move if rape conviction is overturned

The 27-year-old former Sheffield United star continues to maintain his innocence, claiming the sex he had with the victim was consensual

Footballer Ched Evans is determined to revive his career in the United States should his conviction for rape be overturned, according to reports.

The Welsh striker was jailed for five years in April 2012 after being convicted of raping a drunk teenage girl.
He denied the attack and continues to maintain his innocence, claiming the sex was consensual.

However his conviction has stood in the way of the ex-Sheffield United star rebooting his career.

But should the Court of Appeal not overturn his conviction, he would not be able to play in the US.
A source said: "Ched is a proven goalscorer and the MLS would be great for him.

"There is more space and time on the ball and he’d do well.

"He’s not played for years and a Championship club would probably not take a risk on him so he’d be looking at League One.
