Nigeria international Babatunde Michael is not in Qatar simply for the
money, but to improve as a player, his agent has insisted.
The Nigeria forward will leave Moroccan giants Raja Casablanca for Qatar
this summer after agreeing a lucrative three-year deal worth an initial
$3.2m, but his agent Makanjuola Nureni said money was not the reason
the player is leaving for the Middle East.
“It is not about the money that he is moving to Qatar, it is about him developing as a player,” Nureni told AfricanFootball.com
“Qatar will afford him the opportunity to grow and they are making
serious investments in their football and they also have great ambition
so it wasn’t about the money.”
While Raja Casablanca will earn a transfer fee of $1.1m from the deal, Babatunde will earn a whopping $2.1m as signing bonus.
He has previously played for Volyn Lutsk and Dnipro both in Ukraine.
