KAGISO RABADA
says he had plenty of offers to join other counties but chose Kent
thanks to their heritage of South African overseas players.
The
21-year-old from Johannesburg had a bit of a culture shock when he
arrived at the Spitfire Ground, St Lawrence on Tuesday, having arrived
from the much more tropical climes of Barbados.
The
international seamer arrived to strong winds and a rain-lashed
Canterbury as Kent drew their four-day County Championship clash with
Derbyshire to move top of the division two standings. He was sat in the
dressing room huddled in a warm training top, maybe wondering what he
had let himself in for.
Rabada is set to
be thrust straight into action on Thursday night in the NatWest T20
Blast match with Sussex at Canterbury, a tournament in which Kent have
underachieved this season.
