Arsenal Beat Chelsea To Premier League Striker, Personal Terms Agreed

Arsenal have reportedly agreed terms with Everton striker Romelu Lukaku, snatching him from London rivals Chelsea as the two go head to head.

The media are breaking this story following a tweet from Italian journalist, Emanuele Giulianelli, who believes the deal is one step over the line. Although he doesn’t have the best track record.

Lukaku has been a top target floating around the Gunners following the uncertainty of Jamie Vardy agreeing a switch to the Emirates, and now the Belgian striker looks to be a popular bet.

Sky Sports reported earlier this week that having teamed up with Football Whispers, now have the Belgian international as the most likely transfer to go through at the Gunners.

As well as the comments on Twitter, Lukaku has revealed that his future lies in the hands of his agent as he continues to represent Belgium as their main striker at Euro 2016.

However, despite opening the door to a move in early April with focus on picking up a large pay-day, Mino Raiola has spoken about the former Chelsea academy graduate.

"Everton don’t need money anymore.
Rom wants to play for a club that can win trophies.
Something’s changed at Everton, there’s a new project.

Fresh Arsenal recently picked out Lukaku as a highly likely replacement should Vardy choose to stay at Leicester this season, and it could answer the calls of many supporters.

At just 23 the beastly forward has already established himself as a striker capable of carrying a team, scoring 15+ goals on two occasions in three seasons with The Toffees.

New boss Ronald Koeman could be a major factor in Lukaku’s future, and although the pair share a desire to go on and win silverware, European football is something Everton can’t catch.

It’s been no secret in recent seasons that Lukaku would one day like to return to a club that can offer Champions League action, and Arsenal have that as a trump card over Chelsea.

The Blues missed out on Europe’s biggest club tournament following a dismal season, and his unhealthy exit from Stamford Bridge is just another aspect of why Lukaku may reject Antonio Conte’s men.
