» Serie A side hoping good relationship with Man City will get them half-price transfer
Although it was being reported as pretty much done, it appears
there’s still a few details to sort out in the Pablo Zabaleta to AS Roma
transfer.
Gazzetta dello Sport hinted the deal was well on its way on Tuesday
night, yet Corriere dello Sport on Wednesday say there’s still a meeting
to be had between the two clubs.
Walter Sabatini, Roma’s sporting director, is understood to be
travelling to England to have a chat with a couple of clubs, including
Pep Guardiola’s new side.
Despite Manchester City asking for €5m for their ageing right-back,
Sabatini is hoping the good relationship between the two clubs (they
sorted out a deal for Edin Dzeko last year) will allow them to get him
for half that price.
As for the player, the Italian newspaper say Zabaleta has already
accepted their demands, rumoured to be around £40k/week post tax for the
next three years.
Everyone’s very confident this will get done soon, and it’s looking increasingly likely.
