Whether it’s a Friday night or a weekend afternoon, cricket’s NatWest T20 Blast is already the hottest ticket in town this summer.

And the Guardian has free tickets to give away for Notts Outlaws’ match against the Yorkshire Vikings at Trent Bridge on Friday, July 15 (6.30 pm) start).

The Outlaws, who are led this season by Australian international big-hitter Dan Christian and feature a host of other well-known stars, are aiming to take the competition by storm.

At the halfway stage of the campaign, they currently sit fourth in the nine-team North Division table after three wins, two defeats and two rain-hit abandonments in their seven matches so far. They are just three points behind the leaders, Northamptonshire Steelbacks, with seven games still to play.

The first of those seven is at home to Durham Jets tonight (Friday). This is followed by the visit to Trent Bridge of Worcestershire Rapids on Saturday, July 9 (2.30 pm start), and the Outlaws’ final home fixture of the group stages is against Leicestershire Foxes on Friday, July 29 (6.30 pm).

Four teams from both the North Division and the South Division go through to the knockout stages of the tournament, with quarter-finals, followed by the NatWest T20 Blast Finals Day, which comprises both the semi-finals and final in one of the most eagerly-looked forward to events in the domestic cricket calendar.

Yorkshire are currently languishing at the bottom of the North Division table, but they are the reigning County Championship champions and their side is packed with talent.

Twenty20 cricket originated in England in 2003 and was conceived as an exciting alternative to the one-day and four-day game. The format of just 20 overs per side ensures fans are captivated by every ball, every hit and every run.

T20 merges the drama of short-form cricket with a party atmosphere at grounds -- and Trent Bridge is no different as it regularly attracts big crowds for Blast matches, which last no more than three hours and provide thrilling entertainment for all the family. Expect to see batsmen smashing sixes and fours, bowlers trying unusual deliveries to get them out and fielders throwing themselves around to stop runs and take catches.

The Guardian has teamed up with Notts Outlaws to offer the chance to win a package of four tickets for the clash with Yorkshire Vikings.

To enter the competition, simply answer the following question:

WHAT IS THE NAME OF YORKSHIRE’S T20 SIDE?

E-mail your answers to sport.nmsy@jpress.co.uk by no later than 5 pm next Tuesday (July 5).
