» Arsenal midfielder to miss start of 2015/16 season after Olympics call-up
Arsenal midfielder Alex Iwobi is likely to miss the beginning
of the Premier League season after being called up by Nigeria for this
summer’s Olympics.
There was plenty of debate surrounding whether the 20-year-old would
be included in the African side’s squad, with Iwobi eligible as one of
the under-23 players, also including Manchester City’s Kelechi
Iheanacho.
The call-up means that Iwobi is certain to miss Arsenal’s
pre-season preparations and could potentially miss the beginning of the
season depending on his tiredness.
