Hall on the ball as Co-op edge Askam in Furness Women's League

DEBBIE Hall set up the Co-op for victory in a closely-fought Furness and District Women’s Bowling League match against Askam.

They took five games each in the Division One match, but Hall’s 21-2 win gave the Co-op the aggregate by 14 chalks.

In another tight match, Hawcoat Park came away with a 7-5 victory from Ulverston Cons.

Val Willis and Ann Smith were Red River’s only winners when they played Roose and they went down 10-2.

Dalton won well at Roose A and Biggar Bank beat North Scale.

The front runners in Division Two showed good form. King Alfred A beat Park North, Hawcoat Park A defeated Abbey and West Mount overcame Barrow Island.

The other two games both came down to the aggregate, Biggar Bank A winning by 12 chalks and Askam A by seven.
