Bayern Munich secured a record fourth consecutive Bundesliga title after a 2-1 victory Ingolstadt while VFB Stuttgart are now odds on favorites for the drop.
Schalke 04 and Augsburg shared the spoils in an entertaining encounter at the Veltins-Arena, with Dutch forward Klaas-Jan Huntelaar opening the scoring for the home side and midfielder Daniel Baier finding a last-minute eqauliser for Augsburg.
Borussia Gladbach moved into fourth position as they look to snatch the last place for Champions League football late on in the campaign. A goal in each half from midfielder Andre Hahn was enough to see off third-place Leverkusen, who opened the scoring in the 20th minute through the returning Chilean midfielder Charles Aranguiz.
A second-half strike from Brazilian Luiz Gustavo was enough for Wolfsburg to see off Hamburger SV. The
result for Dieter Hecking side sees them move into 8th spot.
2006–07 Bundesliga champions VfB Stuttgart's miserable season contained with a 3-1 loss to Mainz, an early goal from Christian Gentner gave the home support at the Mercedes-Benz-Arena hope but Mainz fought back to move up to fifth at the expense of Hertha Berlin after goals from Yunis Malli, Jhon Andrés Córdoba and Austrian forward Karim Onisiwo.
Werder Bremen moved two points ahead of 17th placed Stuttgart that leaves them in the relegation play-off spot and one point off 15th placed Frankfurt after their goalless draw with Koln at the Rhein Energie Stadion
Japanese midfielder Hiroshi Kiyotake handed relegated Hannover 96 a rare win against an in-form Hoffenheim at the HDI-Arena leaving 28-year old manager Julian Nagelsmann needing only one point from their final game against Schalke 04 next week to retain their top-flight status.
Hertha Berlin's poor run of form continued as they lost to minnows Darmstadt 98 at home and left their Champions league hope in tatters. Their seven game winless streak has seen them fall from third spot to sixth as goals from Jerome Gondorf and Sandro Wagner canceled out midfielder Vladimír Darida's early goal.
Eintracht Frankfurt took a major step toward Bundesliga survival by recording a 1-0 victory over Borussia Dortmund, who will finish the season as runners-up after Bayern Munich were crowned champions on Saturday.
A brace from Robert Lewandowski was enough for Bayern to secure their fourth consecutive Bundesliga title with a 2-1 win over Ingolstadt as Dortmund faltered at Frankfurt.
The Pole now moves two goals ahead of Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang on the scoring charts with his 27th league goal of the campaign.
