33 years without defeat at home on last day

FC Bayern will conclude this season's Bundesliga campaign against Hannover 96 on Saturday, and the German record champions are buoyed by a strong streak of 33 years since they last lost at home on Matchday 34. The men from Munich most recently fell on their home field on the final day back in May 1983 in a 1-0 reverse against Schalke. fcbayern.de has compiled the most interesting facts and stats in the build-up to the meeting.

Nine wins in a row against Hannover

FC Bayern have reason to be optimistic as they boast an impressive run of nine straight wins in competitive fixtures against Hannover. The last defeat dates back to October 2011, a 2-1 reverse. Bayern have won eight Bundesliga encounters and one cup tie since then, the goal difference being 31 for and four against.

Stats favour FCB

The numbers tell a one-sided story, as the Bavarians have won 36 out of 53 Bundesliga fixtures against Hannover and lost only nine, with eight matches ending in a draw, the goal difference being 145-52. The home record against Hannover is even more impressive: the hosts have won 23 out of 26 encounters, with one defeat and two draws, scoring a whopping 90 goals and conceding only 18.

Kircher in charge

Knut Kircher from Rottenburg is the man with the whistle for Bayern’s final match of the Bundesliga campaign. It will be the last bow for the match official as Kircher will finish his career at the end of the season. He most recently oversaw the goalless draw against Leverkusen in February 2016. Kircher's assistants will be Robert Kempter and Thorsten Schiffner, with Dominik Schaal acting as fourth official.
