The likes of Thomas Muller, Manuel Neuer and Mats Hummels have spent their entire careers playing in Germany but there are a few who have tried their luck outside the Bundesliga. In recent times, Mesut Ozil,
Michael Ballack and Sami Khedira played in other European leagues and with more world class players coming through the ranks, it isn’t a surprise some of the top clubs in the world want to sign the Bundesliga stars.

Granit Xhaka seems to be another player who has made the switch from the Bundesliga after pictures were revealed of him in an Arsenal jersey. Continuing that trend, here are five Bundesliga players who move to other European clubs.

1) Loris Karius – FSV Mainz 05

Karius is expected to replace Mignolet at Liverpool

Speaking of Germans doing well in other leagues, a certain manager of Borussia Dortmund joined Liverpool and led the Merseyside club to two finals. Unfortunately for the Reds, they lost both. While Alberto Moreno was the villain in the Europa League final, Simon Mignolet was the culprit in the Carling Cup final.

Jurgen Klopp did hand Mignolet a contract extension but the club have to find a better goalkeeper than the Belgian, who has cost Liverpool a number of games this season. While many have linked big named stars such as Bernd Leno and Marc-Andre ter Stegen as replacements for Mignolet, one player who seems to be leading the race at the moment is Loris Karius.

The 22-year-old German goalkeeper kept nine clean sheets for Mainz in the 2015/16 season. He does seem to be better than Mignolet when it comes to dealing with crosses and also with his distribution, which have been a couple of problematic points for the Belgian keeper at Liverpool.
Young, athletic and on the right growth track, Karius could be the signing of the season for Liverpool, at least.
