Is Alaba good enough to make demands?

Bayern Munich's David Alaba is open to the idea of joining Barcelona, but has demanded that he plays in midfield if he was to make the move to Spain.

The Austrian International is 23-years-old and has impressed at left back for the German side, but British tabloid newspaper the Mirror believes that he sees his future in midfield and is demanding that he is played in a more advanced role if he is to move.

Spanish newspaper Mundo Deportivo believe Barca have already made an approach for Alaba, with the Mirror reporting: 'he has communicated to both his current club and prospective employers that he wishes to operate in central midfield'.

During his short career to-date with Bayern Munich, Alaba has won the German Bundesliga five times, the DFB-Pokal three times, the DFL-Supercup twice, as well as the UEFA Champions League, UEFA Super Cup and FIFA Club World Cup.
