Liverpool want Cologne’s keeper, Jurgen Klopp sent his chief scout to check him out
The Swansea game confirmed what all Liverpool already knew.
The Reds are in need of defensive reinforcements in the summer if they are top challenge the top clubs both in the Premier League and on the European stage.
For months upon months, Liverpool fans have been critical of their club’s rearguard, with Simon Mignolet often taking the blame between the sticks.
While Mignolet missed the Swans game, Danny Ward made his second appearance of the season, belief that a new keeper is needed at Anfield remains string.
In that regard, Bild have today announced that Liverpool are targeting Cologne’s keeper Timo Horn.
According to reports, Jurgen Klopp sent his chief scout Dave Fallows to check him out during the 0-0 draw at Augsburg on Friday night in the Bundesliga.
Horn made one save as he kept a clean sheet against Augsburg.
Horn hadn’t registered a clean sheet since early March, against relegated side Hannover, and only has seven shutouts in total on the season.
He does rank high in the Bundesliga in saves list however, with 118 saves this season and nearly four per match.
The 22-year-old is under contract until 2019, while he has a 9 million euro exit clause.
