Hernan Crespo "almost happy" Gary Neville is struggling in Valencia job

The former Chelsea striker reveals he is no fan of the pundit-turned-manager

G-Nev and Crespo: Unlikely to be exchanging Christmas cards any time soon

The shift from great player to great coach is not an easy one. That's why, as a former player currently working his way into management, you might think Hernan Crespo could empathise with others in the same boat.
Apparently not.

The former Chelsea and Argentina star is currently coach of Serie B side Modena. In an interview with FOX Sport on Italian TV, Crespo was asked about several managers he has worked with who are currently making headlines.
Jose Mourinho ("a great communicator") and Claudio Ranieri ("doing an amazing job on a mental level") both get plenty of praise.

But look what the man who was once the world's most expensive footballer had to say about Gary Neville:
"To watch a game from the TV, it's very different from the bench. I'm almost happy for Gary Neville's troubles at Valencia. I remember he was too harsh as a TV pundit."

OUCH.

Granted, Neville's record at Valencia has (so far) been pretty awful. But sticking the boot in on someone trying to do exactly the same thing as you?

Seems a tad harsh. Dare we suggest Crespo - down in the second tier of Italian football - is a little jealous of Neville jumping straight into a top job?
