Arsenal’s Number One Bundesliga Target Unequivocal On Premier League Dream

 Linked with a move to Arsenal during the January transfer window, Granit Xhaka seems absolutely determined to get the deal done.

Granit Xhaka currently plays his football with Borussia Monchengladbach and The Independent reported that Arsenal were weighing up a bid for the 23-year-old during the January transfer window.

Although no one was quite sure how much truth there was to the report, Gladbach’s sporting director, Max Eberl, suggested the potential deal was very much real stating that the club would consider selling the Switzerland international if the right bid came in.
“There are always situations a club has to give consideration to. It depends on our sporting success, it depends on the performance of Granit.
“It also depends on the numbers being offered by clubs, which can go into levels that make you dizzy.”
Following on from these comments, Xhaka himself openly stated that he is determined to play in the Premier League and joked that he had already spoken with Francis Coquelin about taking the number 34 from him should he move to the club.
“Whether it’s two games or 100, I want to play there [in the Premier League]…
Yes, I’ve spoken with him (Coquelin), he would like to take another number (laughs).”
Today, Xhaka has once again made it unequivocally clear that his heart is set on a move to England’s top flight and, although the Swiss midfielder does not seem to have any club lined up, Arsenal are still believed to be his most likely destination.
Check out his determined comments from an interview with Blick below;
England is my dream. I’ve never hid that. Whether I’ll be happy there, currently only the good Lord knows.
For me money is not important. Otherwise I would not switch in 2012 from Basel to Moenchengladbach.
It’s about being a big challenge for me as a footballer.
(On potentially moving to a less high profile club like Stoke or Norwich than compared to Arsenal or Chelsea), what’s important if I make a change is that I make a step forward in the sport.
I do not come from money-hungry family, but from one with a firm character.
