While his focus is now on Euro 2016 with Spain, Koke admits Atletico Madrid’s Champions League final heartache will live with him forever.

It had looked as though they had done enough in each game to deserve victory, and failing to do so now means the games are extremely hard to forget for Koke.

“What happened in the Champions League final cannot be forgotten,” he said. “Both Milan and Lisbon will always be there, I’ve not seen the final and would rather not see it.”
