Mauricio Pochettino looks set to sign Victor Wanyama for Tottenham Hotspur from Southampton in the coming days.
Victor Wanyama’s desire to link back up with Tottenham Hotspur boss Mauricio Pochettino has been clear ever since the moment the Argentine left St. Mary’s.
Pochettino departed Southampton to join Spurs back in 2014, and Wanyama was quick to announce his disappointment about the move when it went through.
“I learnt a lot from him, he taught me more and that's why I have grown as a player and there is a big difference compared to when I was at Celtic,” he said to the Daily Mail.
“He played a big role in my career development.
“I wanted him to remain because he had the passion for the club and I think the owners should not have let him go because the team can do better next season.

“It's a big blow because he had good connection with the players.”
Ever since Pochettino left to join Spurs, Wanyama has reportedly been a target of the North London club, but they have failed to get a deal over the line until now.
The Kenyan midfielder tried to force through a move last summer, but failed and ended up staying with Southampton.
However, it seems that Pochettino has finally got his man now, with Wanyama set to undergo a medical at Tottenham in the near future.
Wanyama is expected to sign a four-year deal at Spurs, in a transfer worth £11 million.
Wanyama’s task at Spurs will be to provide competition for both Eric Dier and Mousa Dembele, who currently occupy the defensive midfield slots in Pochettino’s starting line-up.
Wanyama made 85 appearances for Southampton during his three year stay at St. Mary’s.
