Inter Milan Planning move for Erik Lamela after admirable Copa America

Inter Milan are watching Tottenham ace Erik Lamela at the Copa America ahead of a potential summer swoop.

According to Gazzetta dello Sport, Inter's vice president Javier Zanetti is keeping a close eye on the 24-year-old, who has helped Argentina reach the semi-finals in the USA.

Zanetti is said to have been impressed by his compatriot so far and could now sanction a bid to take Lamela back to Serie A.

The Buenos Aires-born winger has struggled to recreate the sort of form that prompted Tottenham to spend an initial £26m to land him from Roma in August 2013.

In the three seasons that have followed, he has managed just seven goals in 76 Premier League games for Spurs, while he was subbed off 19 times in the 28 matches he started last term.

But Zanetti and Inter reckon Lamela could shine back in Serie A, where he scored 19 goals in 62 games for Roma, and could be about to make their move to land him.
