Andy Murray revealed he is swotting up on becoming a good dad after showing he is a brilliant tennis player.
The British No 1 has promised to fly home from Down Under immediately if his wife Kim goes into labour early - even between the semi and the final.
But the BBC Sports Personality of the Year is still in Melbourne and yesterday reached his fifth Australian Open final with a five-set win over Milos Raonic .
He plays world No 1 Novak Djokovic in Sunday’s final.

Asked if he is ready to be a father, the Scot said: “I hope so. I’m going to find out pretty soon.

“I’ve been reading a lot of books and trying to learn but I think obviously when the baby comes, you need to be just sort of able to adapt.
“I don’t think any books or any classes are going to make you a great parent.
“I’ll just try and learn on the way, and obviously with the support of my wife, and we’ll do our best to be good parents.”

If Murray flies home before the final, Djokovic will be awarded the trophy and an exhibition match played.

New arrival: Andy will pull out of the final if Kim goes into labour early

Before the tournament, the world No 2 said: “The same thing would happen even if I reach the final.

“For me, my child is more important to me, and my wife is more important to me than a tennis match, yeah.”
His coach Amelie Mauresmo said: “Kim has just got to hold on for two more days now!”

Murray has also had to cope with his father-in-law Nigel Sears collapsing at the tournament last weekend and he admitted he considered pulling out.
Mauresmo said: “Definitely towards the end of last week was a bit complicated for him and he did well.

“He handled it very well, as well as he could I guess and then as this week was going on he was a bit calmer and less stressed I guess.”
