The Polish striker played under Klopp for five years at Borussia Dortmund and says he can already see evidence of his impact at Anfield
The Polish striker, who scored five goals in nine minutes for Bayern Munich earlier this season, has praised the German for making him the player he is today.
Klopp brought Lewandowski to Borussia Dortmund and enjoyed five years in each other's company.
Lewandowski has been following his former boss' progress in England and while it hasn't always been plain sailing, he can already see evidence of his impact.
He says that the emotion shown by Klopp as the Reds secured the dramatic 5-4 win over Norwich earlier this month typified the man.
Speaking to the Mail on Sunday, he said: "He always stood up for his team and he’s a bit like a father for the players. Also, for the Liverpool fans, when they see they’ve got a coach who gives his all they’ll back him.
Klopp is a very good coach. He suits English football."
Lewandowski admitted that Klopp had actually changed him as a footballer as they worked together at Dortmund.
Lewandowski says that experience had made him a much better player when he reverted back to the No.9 spot.
He says Klopp had annoyed him for changing his position temporarily, but now realises that he continued to learn under his stewardship.
He said: "One day he could be having a laugh with you and, the next day, if you got it wrong in training, he’d come and have a go at you. He knows when to be your friend and he also knows how to be the boss — and that’s one of his strengths."
Lewandowski is now playing under Pep Guardiola at Bayern Munich - the boss who appears set to take over as manager of Manchester City next season.
While Guardiola has not confirmed where he is going, Lewandowski believes that the Spaniard will already have a plan in place to bring success to the Premier League.
And he thinks he will bring something that English football has never seen before.
He said: "He will focus on technique and perhaps more possession than is the norm in England. But Pep knows the Premier League is different from the Spanish league or the Bundesliga but I’m sure he can do something new in terms of tactics and technique."
But it is unlikely that Lewandowski will be joining Guardiola in the Premier League . He dismissed recent talk of a move as 'just speculation'.
