Switzerland’s young superstar Breel Embolo is set to join Schalke 04 rather than Premier League side Manchester United, according to Swiss paper Basler Zeitung.
This wouldn’t be the first time that a teenager has snubbed a move to Manchester United
to instead go to a Bundesliga team. Last month it was the Portuguese
18-year-old Renato Sanches that decided to sign for Bayern Munich
instead of the Red Devils.

Schalke automatically qualified for the Europa League last season,
and have recently gotten manager Markus Weinzierl to leave FC Augsburg
and join them for the next season. They have already signed Brazilian
defender Naldo from Wolfsburg on a free transfer.
Embolo currently plays for Swiss side FC Basel, and has had two great
seasons with the team. Overall he has made 61 appearances over three
years and has scored 25 goals, earning him a place in Switzerland’s Euro 2016 squad.
No doubt he is one of a few young stars to potentially make moves
before the season begins. As mentioned, Sanches has already moved to
Bayern Munich, while Borussia Dortmund have picked up Ousmane Dembele.
