Leeds United, Aston Villa and Cardiff City are reportedly interested in signing Marcus Antonsson in the summer transfer window.
Championship trio Leeds United, Aston Villa and Cardiff City are interested in signing Marcus Antonsson in the summer transfer window, according to FotbollDirekt.se.
Antonsson is on the books of Swedish club Kalmar FF at the moment and has a contract until June 2018, according to Transfermarkt.co.uk.
FotbollDirekt.se claims that Leeds, Villa and Cardiff are all interested in securing the services of the 25-year-old forward this summer.
The former Halmstads BK forward’s agent has also been quoted as saying that he is in negotiations with clubs outside of Sweden.
However, Anders Karlsson has not named the clubs who are interested in Antonsson, but FotbollDirekt.se claims that they are Leeds, Villa and Cardiff.
It has also been reported that the deal could be worth £1.27m (15 million Swedish krona)
“The interest is huge and there is activity with foreign clubs,” Karlsson told FotbollDirekt.se. “Who they are, I can not say. But I can confirm that there is multiple activity.”
Leeds, Villa and Cardiff will all be aiming to finish in the top six of the Championship next season.
The Bluebirds were in the running for the playoffs during the 2015-16 campaign, while the West Yorkshire outfit have become also-rans in the second tier of English football in recent years.
As for Villa, they got relegated from the Premier League at the end of the 2015-16 campaign.
Would Marcus Antonsson be a success in the Championship?
