Liverpool are reportedly set to include veteran defender Kolo Toure in their list of players to be released this summer.
The Premier League will publish a list of players that are out of contract on Friday afternoon, and with the Ivorian’s deal set to expire, and with no new agreement on the table, he is now likely to be looking for a new club ahead of next season.
After joining from Manchester City in 2013, the 35-year-old made a total of 71 appearances for the Merseysiders, with his last outing coming in the Europa League final against Basel last month.
While he wasn’t able to sign off his time with the club with a triumph, he will now potentially be forced to look elsewhere as the Liverpool Echo report that he will be on his way out of the exit door.

With a desire to continue his playing career before looking at coaching, Toure’s opportunities at Anfield were seemingly set to become more limited next season with the arrival of Joel Matip and with younger individuals possibly being preferred by Jurgen Klopp.
The German tactician would have benefited from Toure’s experience in leading in the dressing room as well as on the pitch when playing, but perhaps the time is now right to look forward as he continues to bolster his squad and push them in the right direction.
