Arsenal have reportedly made a bid for the Albanian right-back.

Arsenal have made a bid for Napoli full-back Elseid Hysaj, according to French publication Le10 Sport.

The Gunners have been linked with the 22-year-old for the last couple of weeks but it was suggested that Arsenal boss Arsene Wenger was merely weighing up a bid.

But, according to Le10 Sport, Wenger has now acted on his interest and submitted a £14.8 million for the young right-back.

The report comes a week after his agent suggested that a move to the Emirates Stadium club did not represent a step up from where he already was, with Mario Guiffredi saying via Inside Futbol: “I consider this [Arsenal] to be like Napoli, not better. Napoli have become one of the most important clubs in Europe.”

Arsenal certainly could do with another right-back, but fans will be hoping that their club's reported interest in the Albanian international is not an indication as to where Hector Bellerin's future lies.

The Spaniard, who began his career with Barcelona, has been linked with a return to Camp Nou after Wenger snapped him as a teenager in 2011.

Beyond Bellerin, their quality options in that role are limited, with Carl Jenkinson, Calum Chambers and Mathieu Debuchy - who spent the second half of last season on loan with Bordeaux - representing the alternatives at the moment.
