With survival already ensured, 1. FC Köln are seeking to give their fans a stylish send-off to the season in their final home game of the season on Saturday against an SV Werder Bremen side involved in a tight relegation battle (kick-off 15.30CEST/13.30GMT).

Following an impressive 6-2 victory over VfB Stuttgart on Monday night, Bremen travel to Cologne with wind in their sails. Werder need to build on that success as they cannot afford to rely on their direct rivals slipping up in one of the tightest relegation battles in history.

Hosts Köln have enjoyed a solid season and after ensuring their own survival with plenty to spare, will be looking to give their fans a decent send-off before they head to the beach in summer.

Goals: 1-0 Vestergaard (4'), 1-1 Svento (79')
Timo Horn saved a penalty from former Köln striker Anthony Ujah as the Billy Goats battled back from a goal down to rescue a point in Bremen on Matchday 16.

Matchday 33 - match stats

  • Five points behind seventh-placed Mainz, Köln could yet - theoretically - secure a place in Europe.
  • Köln amassed 40 points in 2014/15, but already have 41 on the board.
  • Stöger's men have also scored more goals in 2015/16 (36) compared to last season (34), while their average attendance has grown from 48,329 to 48,584.
  • The Billy Goats are hoping secure a top-half finish for the first time since finishing fourth in 1991/92.
