Toure shares Klopp's half-time mood

The German wasn't best pleased, according to Kolo Toure.

 

Quoted by Soccerway, Liverpool defender Kolo Toure has described how manager Jurgen Klopp went in on the players during half-time of Wednesday's 1-1 draw with Chelsea at Anfield.

The Reds went into the break trailing from a quite brilliant Eden Hazard goal which proved the difference in an opening 45 minutes in which Klopp's side looked rather sluggish it has to be said.

The German manager fielded virtually the strongest XI possible, but it was a disappointing performance and Christian Benteke's last-minute equaliser, heading into an empty net following an error from Asmir Begovic, papered over the cracks somewhat.

Speaking to Sky Sports afterwards, via Soccerway, the ex-Arsenal defender revealed that Klopp was less than impressed with his side's first-half performance.

"In the first half it wasn't there, we were not playing as a team. When we do that, we know it is difficult to beat us," the defender told Sky Sports.

"The manager went at us hard in the dressing room. That changed the game – we played together and we scored a good goal."

It must be noted that Liverpool have a Europa League final with Sevilla in Basel just six days away, meaning the Reds might have been preserving their energy somewhat in fear of falling injured for the trip to
Switzerland next week.

There was none of Klopp's high-pressing game on show - well, not as much as there might've been had they not had a cup final on the horizon.
