Champions League PES 2016 sim: Atleti beats Bayern, advances to final

Bayern Munich hosts Atletico Madrid on Tuesday in the Champions League semifinal second leg, and a spot in the May 28 final in Milan is on the line. After a 1-0 win in the first leg, Atletico has a slight edge entering Tuesday's contest. Bayern Munich started slow in the first leg and failed to score, so a comeback will be needed to advance.

We ran a simulation of the game using Konami's "Pro Evolution Soccer 2016" on XBOX One, and here's how it went down.

A back and forth contest with chances for each, there was just one goal, just like the first leg. But it wasn't Bayern to draw level on aggregate, it was Atletico, who won the simulated second leg 1-0, advancing on aggregate 2-0. A second-half goal from Fernando Torres put Bayern in a tough spot, needing three goals to advance. Bayern got zero, as the Atleti defense continued to dominate.

Here is that goal.

Now, it's hard to envision Bayern failing to score on Tuesday. But Atleti's defense is that good and is certainly capable of keeping another cleansheet. We will see how that match turns out, but for now, on "PES 2016," Los Colchoneros are through.
