The Red Devils have gone public to insist that Chris Smalling’s
condition has improved after being stricken down by food poisoning
Chris Smalling has been hospitalised with suspected food poisoning after fainting while on his summer holiday in Bali.
A picture of Smalling was posted on social media with a bandage
around his head as well as a brace on his neck, leading some to suspect
that his injuries were rather serious.
One story suggested he had been hurt while having a surfing lesson,
while other reports claimed that he had been stung by a jellyfish.
However, a spokesperson for the Red Devils insisted that neither of
these claims were true and the defender is now on the mend after a bad
bout of food poisoning.
“Chris has had food poisoning during his holiday which resulted in him
fainting yesterday. He was taken to the hospital and is now feeling
fine,” a United spokesman said on Monday.
