Chelsea have reportedly discussed a contract for Alvaro Morata with the Juventus striker's family.
Morata, 23, is thought to be on incoming Blues manager Antonio Conte's shopping list.
The Italy head coach managed Morata when in charge of Juve before quitting the post in 2014 to take up his role with the national side.
Real Madrid have a £23million option to buy Morata back after they sold him to the Turin club in 2013.
It is claimed Real will then look to sell him on to Chelsea for £47m.
And Italian newspaper Gazzetta dello Sport claim Chelsea have discussed a contract offer with Morata's family and representatives.
According to the report, Morata wants a £6m-a-season deal to join Chelsea, who have offered to double the £2.3m-a-year wages the currently gets at Juve.

"I'm very happy at Barcelona and I don't want to leave"

The Sun claim both Premier League clubs are interested in signing the Turkey international.
Turan signed for Barca last summer but was forced to wait six months for his debut due to the Nou Camp club's transfer ban.
He played just 816 minutes in La Liga and there are suggestions he could already be heading for the exit.
Arsenal are seeking midfield recruits ahead of the new season, with Granit Xhaka going some way to covering the departures of Tomas Rosicky, Mikel Arteta and Mathieu Flamini.
And United manager Jose Mourinho is expected to conduct more deals before the start of the season, with Villarreal defender Eric Bailly his first arrival.
But Turan is determined to prove his worth at Barca.
"I'm very happy at Barcelona and I don't want to leave," he said in a press conference ahead of Turkey's Euro 2016 clash with Spain today.
"Barcelona was my dream and now I'm living the dream.
"But now I am focussed on Euro 2016 and the national team."
"I don't need to prove something.
"If I couldn't prove something to you by this time, it'll be hard to do it now."
Mario Balotelli looks set to leave Liverpool this summer
Besiktas have hit back at claims Liverpool have offered them striker Mario Balotelli on a permanent deal.
Turkish newspaper Foto Mac yesterday reported that Balotelli's agent Mino Raiola was pushing for a transfer to the Super Lig giants.
"I offered Mario to Besiktas and I’m waiting for their answer," Raiola is quoted as saying.
But Besiktas sporting director Erdal Torunogullari has denied the reports, claiming they want to sign Fiorentina's Mario Gomez instead.
"We know Raiola well," he told Turlish paper Fanatik.
“He’s even said Balotelli will go to Besiktas, but it’s not like that. We’re not interested, our priority is to hold on to Mario Gomez.
“This month will be decisive, everything depends on him [Gomez]. Only then will we decide what to do.”
Another player tipped to leave Liverpool is Martin Skrtel.
The Reds have reportedly accepted a £5.5m bid for the Slovakia defender from Fenerbahce.
But his agent Karol Csonto told Goal there are other offers on the table.
“We are so not far that we can say we will finalise things with Fener," Csonto said.
“There are three clubs who really want him, and we expect Galatasaray and Besiktas to make a good offer too.
"Skrtel will then consider what is the best option for him when he is done at the European Championships.
"He has not committed to Fener and will wait to decide once he has all options.”
