» Charlton Athletic: Russell Slade set to assign backroom staff
It is now two weeks to the day since Russell Slade was officially
unveiled as the new manager at the Valley. The first person to be
appointed and be given the ‘manager’ vacancy, as well as the first
domestic manager with an extensive and experienced CV in the English
Football League.
In the last two weeks we have
seen the signing of former Birmingham City striker Lee Novak, and
Northampton Midfielder Ricky Holmes. Two very good domestic signings, as
well as a deal being agreed with Swindon, for their top goal scorer
(20–25) Nicky Ajose around the £800,000 mark.
A contract should be finalised with Ajose by the end of the week.
However in the last two weeks we have heard no news or information
regarding the backroom staff and Russell Slade’s support team since his
arrival, although that is about to change.
It is understood that within
the week that Russell Slade will announce his Assistant Coach as well as
other key support members for his bid for a bounce back promotion next
season.
Bringing in a second in
command is an immediate priority for Slade now, to aid him and Chief
Scout, Steve Head over the summer transfer window.
