Dele Alli is banned for Tottenham’s Europa League last 16 first-leg
clash against Dortmund after picking up three yellow cards
Tottenham Hotspur have received a massive injury boost after a club spokesman cleared Dele Alli of any injuries ahead of their first-leg clash against Borussia Dortmund in the last 16 of the Europa League. The midfielder has had a stellar debut season in the Premier League following his arrival in the summer after spending the second half of last season on loan with former club MK Dons, from where he was signed in January 2015.
The 19-year-old midfielder has been ever present in the Spurs squad this season and has already notched up 39 appearances in all competitions, including 27 in the Premier League where he has scored seven goals and assisted six so far this campaign. His performances have seen him included in the England senior setup and at the moment is a sure starter for the Three Lions in the European Championships in France later in the year.

Mauricio Pochettino has praised the young Englishman, but warned that he was not a machine, who can perform at an optimum level throughout the season. The Argentine manager confirmed that the midfielder was carrying injuries in recent weeks, but revealed that they have different fitness plans for every individual on the team based on the number of appearances and time on the pitch.
"He is an incredible athlete but he is not a machine. He has a problem in his ankle and knee. We have different plans for different players, we analyse the minutes they play and how they are," Pochettino said, as quoted by the Guardian.
A Tottenham spokesman, however, has indicated that the teenage midfielder is completely clear of any injuries at the moment, which will be a big boost to the White Hart Lane outfit, who are entering the final stretch of the Premier League title battle along with Leicester City, Arsenal and Manchester City. Alli will get a good rest this week ahead of their clash against Aston Villa in the Premier League on Sunday (13 March) as he is ruled out for their first-leg clash against Dortmund at the Westfallenstadion on Thursday (10 March) after picking up three yellow cards in the competition thus far.
"He is fully fit. He had some injuries which have now cleared up, but will miss the Dortmund game after three yellow cards in the competition," a Tottenham spokesman said, as quoted by the Daily Mail.
