It made for
a rather bizarre and awkwardly amusing sight, as Peter Crouch swapped
the red and white stripes of Stoke for a blouse and ankle length skirt
all in the name of Sport Relief.
Known as one of the games more humorous characters, the 6ft 7in striker was more than happy to ditch his usual attire and join forces with comedian David Walliams.
Ahead of the March 18 charity special, the Little Britain star slipped back into his gown and donned a curled wig to reprise the role of Emily Howard, who has been enlisted to help get the former Liverpool forward back into the England side - only there's a catch, it's the women's side.

Comedian
Micky Flanagan plays football agent Micky Perm who makes the slip-up of
getting Crouch involved with the wrong sex's side and so Walliams - or
Emily - teaches him how to be 'a lady'.
Joined
by members of the Lionesses' squad, Flanagan's character manages to get
Peter - known as Petra for the trick they try to pull - back into the
England team, albeit not the one he would have initially imaged.

and Walliams ride a tandem bike together before indulging in some
afternoon tea ahead of trying to transfer the Stoke man's skills into
his unusual attire.
'This is the return of a Little Britain character with Peter Crouch as you have never seen him before,' Walliams said.

For
Sport Relief, broadcast live from the Queen Elizabeth Olympic Park, a
host of sports and entertainment stars will poke fun at themselves,
including famous faces such as Rio Ferdinand, Denise Lewis, Louis Smith,
Ian Wright and David Haye.
Other
highlights of the big night on March 18 include Jack Whitehall trying
to get Real Madrid star Gareth Bale to help England to glory at Euro
2016 - even though he will be facing the Three Lions with Wales.
Viewers can also enjoy a one-off special of crime drama Luther, with Idris Elba starring alongside funnyman Lenny Henry.
