André Schürrle promised "two amazing games" in the last eight after Wolfsburg made it past Gent, team-mate Dante underlining that getting so far was "something really special".
André Schürrle promised "two amazing games" in the UEFA Champions League quarter-finals after Wolfsburg reached the last eight for the first time.
The FIFA World Cup winner scored the only goal in the knockout stage debutants' round of 16 second-leg triumph against Gent, and is excited at the prospect of breaking more new ground as he looks ahead to the last-eight draw on 18 March.
"It's going to be difficult no matter who we play," the 25-year-old told UEFA.com. "A lot of the players here have never experienced this stage of the UEFA Champions League so we want to give it our all. It's fantastic for our fans who've never had anything like this; they will see two amazing games. It's great for the whole club."

Reaching the quarter-finals was a high for Schürrle's team-mate Dante, but it is not his proudest achievement of the campaign to date. "My best memory is the game against Manchester United when we won [3-2] at home to qualify in first place in our group," the Brazilian defender told UEFA.com. "After that, I would choose to highlight tonight and our qualification; it's something really special."
Asked who he felt were the UEFA Champions League's top performers at the moment, former Bayern centre-back Dante said "Barcelona look really strong," adding of fellow Brazilian Neymar: "He has made incredible progress and has reached a level very close to that of Lionel Messi. I am very happy for him; he's a great guy and a very good player."
Whether Wolfsburg get Barcelona in the next round remains to be seen. For the moment, Portugal international Vierinha is glad to enjoy the moment. "We have made history in the Champions League and it's difficult to say who we might like to play as all of the teams in the quarter-finals will be tough," he told UEFA.com. "We got through the group stage for the first time and we've advanced to the quarter-finals. Now we can dream."
