Roma sign Antonio Rudiger on permanent deal following successful loan spell

  • Roma have shelled out £6.9m to finalise signing of Antonio Rudiger
  • The 23-year-old has impressed the Roma hierarchy since joining club
  • Rudiger is currently training with Germany ahead of Euro 2016  

Roma have signed German defender Antonio Rudiger on a long-term contract until 2020, making permanent his loan move from Stuttgart for a fee of £6.9million. 

The deal also includes additional payment of £381,000, depending on specific sporting clauses.

The 23-year old joined the Italian club on a one-year loan deal in September for an initial fee of £3m and has made 30 appearances in Serie A.

Rudiger is currently training with the Germany squad ahead of the European 
Championship in France.

The centre back has been capped 10 times by his country. 

He has been named in Germany's 23-man squad, while Marco Reus has been left out due to a groin problem. 

Rudiger progressed through the ranks at Borussia Dortmund before moving to fellow German side Stuttgart in 2011.
