Borussia Dortmund have dismissed suggestions that the likes of Arsenal, Manchester United or Real Madrid could lure Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang away from Signal Iduna Park this summer.

Aubameyang, 26, is one of the hottest properties in European football, with the Gabon striker scoring 25 goals in 31 Bundesliga appearances for Dortmund this campaign.

Speculation that he was close to leaving the German club rose over the weekend after journalist Francois David tweeted that Gabon coach Jorge Costa had been asked not to select him for the friendly match against Mauritania "because he is about to change clubs".

However, Dortmund chief executive Hans-Joachim Watzke told Sport Bild that the report was "all nonsense".

Manchester City and Barcelona are also reported to be keen on signing Aubameyang, who is contracted to Signal Iduna Park until 2020.

La Liga dream

Reports earlier this month suggested United were willing to pay up to £70m ($100m) to sign Aubameyang, while the player himself said in February that it was his "childhood dream" to play for Real Madrid.

"I promised my grandfather, who was from Avila some 110km away from Madrid, that I would play there," he was quoted as saying by ESPN.

The Gabon international recently told Ruhr Nachrichten that he wished to prolong his stay in Germany, but admitted that he would like to play in La Liga in the future.

"It was not for nothing that I prolonged my contract until 2020," the 26-year-old said.

"It was a conscious decision. I can even imagine staying here for longer, even though I would like to play in Spain one day."

He added: "In football, however, you never really know what will happen. Fundamentally, I feel so good here that I could not imagine a nicer place for me right now."
